Why 100 days or less?

Let’s be honest: most master’s theses don’t get read. Not by future employers. Not by colleagues. Sometimes, barely even by your supervisor.

And in a world with ChatGPT and AI tools, the ability to write 80 pages of academic theory is no longer the standout skill it once was.

But how you work? That still matters. A lot.

Employers aren’t hiring you for your thesis title — they’re hiring you for how you think, plan, and deliver under pressure.

So if you’re not planning to become a Ph.D. or professor, stop writing like one who is.

What to focus on instead?

Speed with structure
“Good enough” over perfectionism
A clear, results-driven process that proves you get things done

That’s where The 100 Day Master’s Thesis Planner comes in.

This planner gives you a research-backed system to break down your thesis, stay on track, and finish in 100 days or less — without burning out, and still meeting the criteria of the university.

Because your thesis isn’t just a paper. It’s a chance to show future employers that:

  • You can lead long-term projects
  • You manage your time like a pro
  • You know when to perfect — and when to deliver

As the late Sir Ken Robinson once joked in his brilliant TED Talk:

If you look at who really succeeds in school, you’d have to conclude the whole system is designed to produce university professors.

But you’re not trying to become one.
You’re trying to become hirable outside university.
This planner will help you get there — one day at a time — in less time than your peers.

How to use the 100 Days Master's Thesis Planner

Learn how five simple daily planning questions can shorten your writing process with weeks or even months when you end you day by evaluting your progress, and plan for tomorrow.

Put in today's date

Write down the date of the day you’ve completed. The planner is mant to be written after you’ve completed working on your master’s thesis for the day.

It is the last thing related to your writing process you will do every day.

Inspirational quote

Every day you’ll find a daily quote to remind you of the joy of keeping momentum with positive psychology and gratitude.

What have I accomplished today?

Writing down your accomplishements is both gratifying and empowering. You know when you start a day, that you later have to be accountable for your daily productivity and thus motivate you to work. Also it gives you visual evidence what you have accomplished and helps you think about what needs to be done for tomorrow.

What had I planned to do, but did not do?

Registering what you didn’t do helps you forget important tasks, which can the be moved to next days tasks.

By writing down what you planned to do the day before,
you’re much less likely to forget your tasks. To fill this out,
simply check yesterday’s page, where you wrote down what
needed to be done today, and carry over any incomplete
tasks along with any additional ones you identified throughout the day

Why did I not finish what I had planned to do?

The key learning is to be a better planner, and also find patterns and reasons why didn’t do all what was planned. By labeling the reason or reasons, you can better futureproof your succes, by stoppiing yourself repeating what resulted in you not completing what you had planned.

What must I do tomorrow?

Specify the most important tasks that you absolutely must do. And be specific so you prepare yourself best way possible to get as much done. Instead of saying: Continue writing and reading, specify what needs to be written, and what chapters on which pages needs to be read.
Vague guidelines leads to delayed initiation and poor execution.

What is the first action I need to take tomorrow?
